IP Address Lookup

Analyse any IPv4 or IPv6 address in your browser: address type, private or public range, integer, hex, binary, reverse DNS and CIDR block. It runs entirely in your browser — no signup, no installation, and nothing you paste or drop leaves your device.

Address analysis runs entirely on your device. The optional location lookup sends only the IP address you typed to the public ipwho.is interface; no account is needed and nothing is stored.

What the IP Address Lookup Does

This tool reads an IPv4 or IPv6 address and explains what kind of address it is. Everything that can be derived from the address itself is computed in your browser: the canonical short form, the type and scope (private network according to RFC 1918, loopback, link-local, carrier-grade NAT, multicast, documentation range or public), the 32-bit integer, hexadecimal and binary form of an IPv4 address, the reverse DNS name that belongs to it, and — if you add a slash and a prefix such as /24 — the network address, the broadcast address and the number of usable hosts. IPv6 input is accepted as well, including compressed notation and embedded IPv4 addresses such as ::ffff:192.168.1.1. The optional button that follows fetches country, region, city, ISP and ASN from the public ipwho.is interface; only the address you typed is sent there, and the analysis above keeps working when that interface is unreachable. The tool checks the format and the range of an address — it does not scan ports, does not reveal your location history and does not look up who owns an address in any registry.
