How the Barcode Generator Works
Pick a barcode format, type the value and the code is drawn immediately. Code 128 and Code 39 handle text and article numbers; EAN-13, EAN-8 and UPC-A are the retail formats used on product packaging. For the retail formats the check digit is the important part: it is calculated from the preceding digits and lets a scanner detect a misread. This tool accepts 12 digits for EAN-13, 11 for UPC-A, 7 for EAN-8 and 13 for ITF-14 and adds the correct check digit itself; if you paste a complete number with a wrong check digit, the tool corrects it and tells you so. ITF-14 is what you normally see on shipping cartons, MSI and Pharmacode are used in logistics and pharmaceuticals, and Codabar still appears on library and blood-bank labels. Adjust bar width and height for your label, keep the value printed under the bars if your scanner needs it, then download the result as a PNG at print resolution. All rendering happens locally in the page.
